Where and when is One Night Swing?

Saturday, March 21st at The Birdcage, 25 Central Street, Windsor CT, right next to the train station in the center of Windsor. This venue is just a few minutes North of Hartford, CT and about 10 minutes south of the Massachusetts border. Workshops are a little different than in the past: 6pm to 7:30pm and social dancing is 8pm to midnight.

Is experience required for the workshops?

The Works workshop is for those individuals who are familiar with West Coast Swing and have an understanding of basic 6 and 8 count patterns. We encourage brand new dancers to attend the New to the Scene (newcomer) workshop.

Is the New to the Scene workshop for me?

If you are brand new to West Coast Swing and/or are interested in learning more about it and trying out some basics, you are encouraged to attend the New to the Scene (newcomer) West Coast Swing workshop!

Are private lessons available?

For this ONS event we do not have private lessons available.

Who can attend the social dancing?

Anyone who loves West Coast Swing or who is interested in learning more West Coast Swing is encouraged to attend the social dancing portion.

What is the cost?

Tickets will release to the general public on Sunday, February 8th!

Will tickets be sold at the door?

WORKSHOPS: Online ticket purchase required, tickets will NOT be sold at the door. Purchase The Works ticket by midnight on Friday, March 20th to secure your workshop attendance.

SOCIAL DANCING: You may drop in and pay at the door. Tickets purchased at the door are $35 will NOT include a drink ticket. Save money by purchasing online!

What is included with my ticket?

The Works includes One Mega Workshop (1.5 hours) taught by Saya Suzaki and Roberto Corporan, 4 hours of social dancing, a variety snacks and a drink ticket.

New to the Scene includes one hour newcomer workshop taught by Chris Wasko plus 4 hours of social dancing and snacks.

Party Animal is 4 hours of social dancing and snacks.

*All online ticket registrations include a drink ticket.

How many workshops are there?

Our pros will be teaching a one hour and a half workshop for The Works. New to the Scene will start a little later and last for about an hour.

Will there be food and drink?

NOTE: This is NOT a BYOB event. No outside alcohol is permitted inside the venue, per their policy. We also ask that you please refrain from bringing in any outside food or beverages other than water (unless you have special dietary needs).

FOOD: Variety of fresh fruit and individually packaged snacks will be available during the workshops and social dancing.

DRINKS: There will be a cash bar with wine, beer, soda, water and a cocktail of the night available for purchase with cash or Venmo. Each online event ticket purchase includes one drink ticket good at the cash bar to be handed out at registration entry. Drop in ticket purchasers will NOT receive a drink ticket. Note that ID may be requested by the bartender.

What kind of music will be played?

Variety is the spice of life! We are excited to have themed musical hours throughout the night of social dancing!

Will there only be West Coast Swing dancing?

This is a West Coast Swing dance experience so people will predominantly be dancing that style of dance. Some songs do lend themselves to multiple styles of dance, you and your dance partner are welcome to do other types of dance if you wish. Please be mindful of the other dancers if you are moving around the room and/or not dancing in a slot.

Where do we park?

There are various free public parking areas in the center of Windsor. The CVS parking lot directly across the street is open for parking that evening, as well as a large lot of a closed restaurant on Union Street.

Are refunds available?

Unfortunately, due to the nature of this limited ticketed event, refunds are not available.

If you purchase The Works and find that you are unable to attend the workshop, you may send someone in your place.
